Hand Colour Reflexology is a wonderful self-care tool with unique benefits. Treating the spine – joints problems; internal organs health through spine-organ connection; cleansing Prenatal space through vertebras/weeks of pregnancy connection – gives us different map choices which we can borrow from traditional Foot Reflexology for translation.
For example, a classic Spine Decompression (aka ‘Spinal Stroke’ or ‘Release of Spine and Pelvis’) Colourpuncture treatment which is done on the actual spine and pelvis, can be ‘translated’ both into feet and into hands Reflex Zones. We found that when translating the Spine Decompression treatment into hands it is best to use an ‘inverted man’ topography, a specific Colorpuncture map developed by Peter Mandel for Colourpuncture therapies because the ‘inverted man’ topography gives best accuracy for translation of symmetrical lines.
For the treatment of the spine joints problems (pain, reduced mobility etc) however, the easiest translation from Foot Reflexology where is it a well tested and effective map, it is best to use ‘like for like’ anatomical approach, similar to what we do in Balance Method Acupuncture. We can use foot reflexology into hand reflexology translation but with varying spine locations on hand reflexology maps (which are not always agreeing with each other) the precision (and ease) isn’t going to be the same.
This video is a fragment of our Q&A session on Colour Reflexology course where we demonstrate our take on it, based on our experience in Colourpuncture, Metamorphic Technique and Balance Method Acupuncture. The extra beauty of this foot reflexology into hand reflexology translation – apart from the ease, clarity and precision of colour application – is that you can be infinitely creative with it and use this translation for other Colourpuncture treatment protocols focused on treating various vertebra with their connections and indications.
Don’t forget to use specific colours assignments for individual vertebras as per Colourpuncture training and not general colour indications and remember your vertebra indications as well. Bigger hand areas are best treated with flat focus Perlux and points and lines are best treated with point application Perlux.
Self-care with Colour Reflexology is an easy and nurturing tool, always at your fingertips so to speak. I personally like doing it for myself in the evening, in bed, nicely propped by the pillows with a soft lighting and cosy mood (speaking of cosy mood, here is how I’m seeing a difference between various Colourpuncture styles with my practice of many years – and hand colour reflexology is certainly a star of a cosy mood self-care!). Try to relax both your hand holding your Colourpuncture Perlux (supporting it with the elbow on the pillow for example) and the hand receiving the colour (on the pillow or blanket over your lap). When you leant a particular treatment protocol well enough (and many Colour Reflexology treatments are easy to remember) you can close your eyes and stroke the lines (such as ‘Brain-Body-Soul-Spirit-Kidneys Lines’) or bigger surfaces (‘Colour Shower’ or lung reflex areas).
Pay attention to your dreams and also try some journaling on any thoughts, feelings, bodily felt senses, memories or images which may emerge as you are treating your hands with Colour Reflexology. Dreamwork is a wonderful follow up tool for deeper experience with Hand Colour Reflexology and Journaling is the best tool for getting to clarity on your insights.
I believe that Hand Colour Reflexology is a unique tool because it combines a comfort, ease and precision of colour application with a mindset of the intentional self-care and it promotes both health and healing ability of our hands by improving a flow of Qi and optimising blood and lymph circulation.
