Deep Autumn and a clearly felt change of seasons is an invitation for deep healing – ancestry healing in particular. The Nature itself seems to contract, preserve and deepen into the darkness and cold, shedding the leaves of the current year, retaining the new branching out, and preserving the essence in preparation for the winter reset. As humans we may feel uneasy at this time of year as if we feel some deeper yearning for something which we can not necessarily name. Autumn is a time of Element Metal in Traditional Chinese Medicine, time of clarifying, discerning, letting go and reconnecting with our inner core. Autumn always seems to remind us to complete our current year’s work and decide on what we are going to take into the coming winter.
In old traditions, when people used to live by the seasons – including natural medicine – this was a time for deep ancestry work. Reconnecting with your family tree, your wider ancestry field, anchoring yourself in this field and healing the ancestry when needed is a beautiful tradition which can totally turn our vague longings and internal restlessness into an inspirational journey, where we can discover a new perspective on our life and current events tuning into some supportive guidance.
You may have arrived into this autumn after an eventful or even chaotic year or you may have arrived into it from a relatively orderly year but with feeling some inner stirrings for change – in any ‘chaos or order’ scenario we feel that things are about to change in the next year and intuitively, we are looking for some guidance. An invisible but very much felt guidance from ancestry is something that not many people are familiar or even comfortable about – this may feel too vague, unclear or not even possible.
I felt the same – I had an 100% scepticism based among other things on my turbulent relationship with my family of origin in my younger years. Considering my science background…I was an absolute believer that nothing of the sort existed. However…working with people in a therapist role for many years and witnessing many healing transformations which would always involve some form of ancestry work, I became really curious how out family tree links can really change our inner dynamic. I’m still sceptical – I don’t think this is going to ever go away – but I’m now listening. On a very practical level. I try to act upon what seems to be a message arriving from deep within after Acupuncture, Acupressure or Colourpuncture therapies based on Heart/Small Intestine meridians, Ancestral treatment of Colourpuncture or Acupressure massage of Ancestry related Acupuncture points and Reflex Zones on the skin. Much to my surprise every time…it makes so much sense that I question myself on why was I not seeing that connections before…Now I know why: I always saw myself as myself only, not as a part of a wider family. Big mistake. Luckily, there are ways out of our limiting ‘it’s only me’ vision and this can be truly liberating.
In the video above I propose a very simple level massage which can support your intentional ancestry work no matter how else you would life to approach it (if you are interested in more detailed version of it based on Colourpuncture ‘Spiritual ancestors’ treatment please reach out using the form below). You may be interested in Family Constellations, Intentional Dreamwork, Journaling or other types if inner work – but the body Reflex Zones and Acupuncture points related to ancestry will always provide both a starting point and an eventual anchor.
There are so many ways we can benefit from reconnection and anchoring ourself in our ancestry field but I feel that the following 3 reasons will resonate with many of us (please watch the video above for details):
- Family conflicts
- Disconnection from the family of origin
- A sense of some unexplained internal emptiness
The media: this can be a simple massage as demonstrated; a more detailed Colourpuncture based version of it (based on ‘Spiritual ancestors’ treatment please reach out using the form below); tracing the path of Small Intestine and Heart meridians on the little fingers; Colourpuncture point or line treatment with Rose or complementary Blue/Orange Colourpuncture focused on polar points or ellipses (please see Introduction to Colourpuncture if you are a student). Each form of media will add an extra depth to your self care but even a simple massage will set you on an unraveling path of discovery of your place into your family system, your resource and clarifying the role you have been playing all along in your ancestry field.
A note on unresolved family conflicts: if this is real issue, consider taking part in one of our Dreamwork challenges, very often this is a quickest way to clarify the root cause as well as create a personal perspective, both internally and action wise. Also a simple prompt journaling can offer a more rounded view of ‘the Self and the Family’ picture (please watch the video and read the article for journaling prompts ideas).
During a month of November I’m offering free mini consultations – a no obligation chat with me to ask your questions about Colourpuncture or discuss your options if you are interested in learning Colourpuncture. Colourpuncture has been a great gift in my life and I’m happy to share my experience and my perspective as well as create an easy to follow tailor made treatment protocol for your current needs based on Acupressure or Colourpuncture.
Have an insightful deep Autumn season and consider practicing ancestry healing 🙂
