The five layers of immune system wellbeing and healing from Colourpuncture perspective:
- Body constitution (including family disease tendencies, circumstances around our birth, health of our parents around conception time etc)
- Stress management
- Immune and Lymphatic system wellbeing
- Limbic system
- Conflict stress and conflict resolution.
General management of immune/lymphatic system wellbeing depends on which system of traditional medicine you ask – here is a very brief recap (please check in again a little later as I will add more resources).
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acute stage:
- First, ‘expel pathogens’ (Lu 7, LI4, LI1-4 line in Red; same points in Blue if there is fever)
- Second, support the Elements of Earth (St36 in Blue/Orange or Yellow/Violet – choose according to colour indications) and Metal (LI4 in Yellow for lymphatic support).
Chronic stage, in remission:
- Maintain regular support the Earth and Metal elements depending on a sum total of symptoms
- Address other well-being issues as per medical history
- Ensure balance of Yin and Yang, free flow of Qi and Blood
- Follow a varied diet, regular meal times, adequate rest and sleep.
Western Natural Medicine/Naturopathy
Acute stage:
- Focus on having very little food but a lot of fluids and rest
- Ensuring proper detoxification and elimination.
Chronic:
- Focus on creating and maintaining a healthy ‘soil of the body’, tissues health, ‘ground regulation’ – lymph, mesenchyme etc
- Ensure regular detoxification and elimination
- Create and maintain spinal alignment
- Vegan or vegetarian diet
- Stable mental and emotional health.
‘Reaction’ stage is an inbuilt response
Body reacts when the level of stress/toxins/pathogens reach a critical level. There are automatic pathways for it which act as a safety valve for raising pressure. Usually, it manifests as an acute reaction or a flare up of chronic problem and then the concerted efforts by the body to manage this acute stage acts as self healing.
While not pleasant for us – we have general symptoms on being unwell, we may have fever, pains, inflammation – this is something that body is prepared to do providing there are enough resources to support the clear out. This is an important stage: we need to support our body in its self healing efforts by managing the symptoms, taking plenty of rest so all our Qi will be directed to the ‘defence fight’ itself – and we need to be very careful to contain the reaction by the body within safe margins.
If you feel you don’t have enough knowledge and skills, if you don’t have appropriate support and guidance it’s better to follow the advice of your medical doctor – I can’t highlight this enough. In such situations it’s much better to safely navigate the acute stage under medical supervision and then support the relevant body system after in order to avoid or decrease future problems. So please be responsible and keep this in mind when reading any Acupuncture/Acupressure and Colourpuncture suggestions on this website. However, even if you take any prescribed medications to manage the acute stage, you can start on your Acupressure or Colourpuncture treatments alongside your medication. Acupuncture, Acupressure and Colourpuncture are complementary therapies so they will not be at adds with and will not interfere with the medication route.
